Fender 1964 Jazz Bass, 1964
I recently sold a nice pre-CBS Jazz Bass, here's another one!
This one has the feel, and the look of a true vintage player. It weighs what is average for the model, 9 pounds 5 ounces.
The neck date is 7MAY64A. The truss rod is still effective and the action is just right. The frets do show some wear but are playable without needing work.
I played the bass some this morning and it's got that resonance that everyone wants in a vintage bass as well as the perfect wear to the back of the neck.
The original case is included, a 1964 no-logo, black tolex case with all the latches, hinges and handle working - it of course shows some wear but is not thrashed.
The original bridge and pickup covers are included.
The changes to the bass are as follows: The pots were changed in the 80's - they almost look original when you first open the control cavity. The original pots and output jack are included in the case. A Seymour Duncan vintage-voiced replacement pickup is in the neck position and the original pickup, needing a rewind, is also included in the case. The original pickup cover is on the replacement pickup in the bass.
Everything else on the bass is original with no repairs, problems, refinishing etc.
Here's your player Pre-CBS bass! In this period of quiet in the market this is one of the most desirable instruments as I noticed when listing my last J Bass, there was PLENTY of interest.
