Gibson ES-330, 1966
Serial number 063311
This one is SUPER CLEAN! There are some nicks around the edge of the headstock, nearly no wear on the front of the body and a few light scratches that don't go through the finish on the back. The bass side, lower bout of the guitar on the back does show some light buckle wear, some through the clear coat but not the cherry finish in a few small (less than half inch) spots. The back of the neck is also very clean with no big dings or wear spots. None of this was photographable as it is all superficial wear.
The guitar appears to be completely original with the exception of the nut that holds the pickguard onto the mounting bracket. This pickguard style was discontinued in mid 1966, a more valuable part, and better looking too, than the later pickguard.
The guitar plays flawlessly. These are some of the most comfortable guitars to play. It weighs only 4 pounds 6 ounces! The tuners are the original Kluson Deluxe machines, no other tuners have ever been on the guitar. These tuners were discontinued in favor of Gibson Deluxe keys starting in 1968.
The frets show very light wear and are not in need of work. The neck sets up well and the truss rod is fully functional. One solder joint was re-soldered before I purchased the guitar, the point where one of the tone capacitors connects to the tone pot. Other than that the electronics are 100% original and fully functional.
The guitar sounds amazing as these 330's always do! Non-original hardshell case included.
