Gibson Les Paul Standard, 1976
Serial number 00235776
Here's another of a run of recent Les Paul acquisitions. This one is an early unit in the return to Les Paul Standards at Gibson, it is not a routed Deluxe with full size humbuckers - see the pics..
The guitar is all original with the exception of the changed tuners, with no change to the headstock to accomodate them. The tuners are now recent Gibson Deluxe machines. The bridge pickup has had the cover taken off then replaced. The pickup has not been altered or removed from the guitar nor have any of the electronics been altered.
The original frets show slight wear after a fret mill at some point - they are the traditional low 70's frets that Gibson used but are not in need of replacement at this time. The neck is very true, the truss rod still effective and it plays great with the tone you want. String height at the 12th fret is set at 3/32 inches..
The neck and body show natural playwear, dings here and there, click on the pictures for greater detail. It's been loved, not thrashed and you can play this one without fear of wearing in a minty vintage piece.
The case is a non-original hardshell of good quality and function. The guitar is marked as a second, both on the headstock and in the neck pickup cavity. I think it may be because part of the top shows some flame and the rest doesn't, it's always impossible to tell what the heck the second mark is for...
