Just in! Amazingly clean and original! No changes or repairs! This is the Fender steel with the early 50's Telecaster flat-pole pickup and domed Tele knobs too!
What a beautiful set... Everything is original and squeaky clean - the plating on the headstock plate and bridge, the paint on the amp chassis, the felt-like bottom of the steel... I've been through the amp and the steel and not a solder is touched... The amp, like a couple others I've seen, has a factory atlered label/tube chart. They must have run out of Champ labels, the one in the amp was labeled Princeton, then crossed out and re-written Champ. The tube labeling is changed to that of the Champ, and the serial number that is impressed into the chassis appears on the tube chart.
The tweed is extremely clean and unscuffed on the case and the amp. There are a few small stains on the case here and there, and an area of rippled tweed on one side of the bottom of the amp. The tubes look unused, they have to be original to the amp. The amp handle has a small scratch that I put on it when opening the box it was in when it was shipped to me, otherwise it would look nearly new. The handle on the steel case is a little loose, the inserted plastic mart is held on by two rivets that are a touch loose. The hinges and latches on the case all work perfectly. The original cable is in the case, looking unused.
Everything on the steel and amp works flawlessly. There is one tube that is slightly microphonic. Whoever is lucky enough to buy this set can change the tubes if they wish.
