Fender Jaguar, 1965
Extremely rare custom color
Shoreline Gold!! Serial number L863**
Here is an extremely rare Shoreline Gold Fender Jag from 1965. The only change to the guitar is the middle switch in the bank of three and the mounting screws for all three switches. The only solders changed in the electronics are related to this change. The other two switches are original as is every other part on the guitar. It's stunning! It plays amazingly well too.
The nitrocellulose lacquer finish on these guitars is thin so there is some wear around the edges of the body as well as some fine checking to the finish. The guitar weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces. The pots date to the second week of 1965 and the neck date is March. The case is a no-logo case as shipped with Fender guitars from 1964. It's almost a pre-CBS guitar and in actuality the body and neck were probably made before the CBS takeover. There is only slight wear to the back of the neck and also the frets. The electronics and truss rod are fully functional.
