SOLD - call or email Chuck if you would like to sell yours! 530-894-2228 s-source@pacbell.net. This piece is rediculously clean and original with no broken solder joints, major dings or touch ups. The only small issue is the tiniest route under the control plate. Nothing has been changed on the bass, all I can assume is that this was a factory job - no wires or solders were changed. It looks like it was done just before the bass was wired at the factory.
Included in the original case is the strap, pickup and bridge covers, and the serial numbered warrantee card that came with the bass from the factory.
You can tell someone played it, a few times, there are a few very small dings on the headstock, a light surface mark here and there and that's about it.
I was the first one to take the instrument apart when I verified it's originality, I could tell by the crack sound each screw made as I loosened it - and another when I removed the neck.
The Candy Apple Red finish is incredibly strong in color and has only slight signs of checking. This is the rare 66 transitional model with binding on the neck and dot inlays.
The bass weighs approximately 9 pounds 8 ounces.
Shipping to Australia is available only through BAX Global Air Freight at a cost of $225. The website will charge Europe/Japan shipping automatically and you will receive an email after your order for the balance of the shipping cost if you are from Australia. I cannot ship the guitar until all shipping is paid.
