For buyers in the US, stringed instruments are subject to a 48 hour approval period. These instruments are not returnable unless they are delivered in a condition that is different from what was described. Instruments may now be returned for subjective reasons such as 'feel', etc with some restrictions, read on.
For example, if I were to send you a guitar and say it's all original and it turned out not to be, I would issue a full refund upon return of the guitar. If I were to send you an old Martin and tell you that it doesn't need a neck reset and it does, I will issue a full refund.
I will now accept the return of a guitar for subjective reasons like: the thickness of a neck feels wrong, the guitar or bass doesn't sound exactly like another one of the same model, the scale length is not comfortable or a certain type of pickup doesn't sound quite right. I provide many pictures and long descriptions in an effort to be clear about the items I sell and to help buyers on the web in what is a tough medium to buy. I also invite and expect your questions before you decide to buy so we can avoid wasting the time of UPS, FedEx and each other. Sometimes this just isn't enough so I now will allow a subjective return if contacted within 48 hours of receipt of a guitar AND if the buyer agrees to pay all shipping charges and a $75 fee per guitar. Retain all shipping materials until you know you're keeping the guitar, and pack it just as it was when it arrived please.
I don't expect anyone to keep a guitar they don't like but I do believe that it is important for a guitar shopper to know before they buy if they like a fat neck versus a thin one, whether they like fully hollow bodies versus semi hollow, or if they don't like P90's as much as humbuckers. Buyers should also know that most instruments vary from unit to unit. I really am reasonable and fair to deal with. It's just too time consuming, expensive and potentially hard on instruments to send them out for demos. If my descriptions and photos of my items leave you at all in doubt please feel free to email me at s-source@pacbell.net or call me at 530-894-2228.
Used and vintage amps, tubes and speakers, special orders and any Ebay purchases are not returnable for any reason unless specified in writing by myself on the buyer's invoice at the time of the sale. I fully test all my items before they go up for sale or auction. Due to the nature of electronics, I cannot be responsible for any failure of an old amplifier part or speaker once it leaves my shop.
If you experience shipping damage, keep all packaging and call the shipper to start the claim. I will facilitate your claim by also calling the shipper - but you must call first as you are the buyer and receiver of the item!
Please call and/or email me to get authorization for a return. If an item is shipped back without prior authorization and/or without insurance it will be refused at the sender's expense.
